Mountainville Academy desires that each family understand the mission, philosophy, organization and policies of the school in order to ensure that the provisions of Mountainville Academy meet the expectations of those who enroll their children. Please read the following information and acknowledge below:
- I understand that Mountainville Academy is a public charter school and is available to students of all ability levels without discrimination in program benefits, participation, or treatment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, or any other classification protected by law.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy offers enrollment to eligible students in grades K-9 with class sizes of approximately 25 children each.
- I understand that my submission of an ITR form is applicable for the 2012-2013 school year only. I also understand that my child must turn five (5) on or before September 1, 2012 in order to be eligible for attendance during the 2012-2013 school year and that if my child does not meet the age requirement my application will not be accepted.
- I understand that my submission of an ITR form does not guarantee admission to, or constitute enrollment in, Mountainville Academy and that my application may be subject to a lottery selection process. I also understand that children of Founding Parents, children of Mountainille Academy licensed teachers, and siblings of registered students receive preference for enrollment over the general applicant pool.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy provides an academically challenging curriculum program which meets or exceeds Utah State Standards and includes the Core Knowledge Sequence, Saxon Math, Spalding, Shurley English, and direct instruction programs. I also understand that Mountainville Academy utilizes achievement grouping to address the varying academic levels of its students.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy strives for 90% daily average attendance and that parents of Mountainville Academy students are expected to minimize their children's tardies and absences.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy students adhere to a uniform-style dress standard and that parents of Mountainville Academy students are expected to ensure their children are in daily compliance with the standards of the Mountainville Academy Uniform Policy.
- I understand that school bus transportation is not available to and from Mountainville Academy and that parents of Mountainville Academy students are responsible to drop off and pick up their children each day, on time, and within the specified timeframes allowed by the school.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy does not provide school lunch at this time and that parents of Mountainville Academy students are responsible to either send a lunch from home or arrange for one of the available third party lunch options.
- I understand that parent involvement is key to a successful school and that Mountainville Academy is enthusiastic in offering parents meaningful opportunities to serve the school community on a volunteer basis. I also understand that the school requests and encourages every Mountainville Academy family to provide 40 hours (20 hours for single-parent families) of volunteer service each year.
- I have read Mountainville Academy's mission, philosophy and curriculum choices and understand that Mountainville Academy families are expected to support Mountainville Academy in the pursuit of it's mission, vision, philosophy, and curriculum.
- I understand that Mountainville Academy families and staff are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times, using positive communication and demonstrating courtesy and respect when interacting with the staff, students, parents and anyone else in the school community.
