Art Teacher

I have been working at Mountainville Academy since the fall of 2010, and I have to say this is my dream job! I went to school at UVU, and at the time they did not have an Art Education degree. So I worked on my Visual Arts degree, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Fine Art. At the time I was going to school I worked at a Childcare Center. A few years after graduating I decided it was time for a job change, but I did not know what I wanted to do. I started the ARL program to get a job as a teacher. I never thought that I would be able to be an art teacher, so I was looking at grade level positions. But, while I was looking for a job, I was offered the positions of Elementary Art teacher here at Mountainville! It truly is the best job in the world! I get to interact with children all day, work with art materials, make a mess, and enjoy doing it! The children, parents, and staff here are wonderful to work with.

Some other things about me are: I love shopping for stocking stuffers. I do this all year - you never know what you will find at the dollar store. I love color, but, I don't have just one favorite. I love all colors and the way they look together. My favorite combination is Rainbow! Frogs are one of my favorite animals. It could have to do with the time I spent in Puerto Rico, but it could also be that they jump. Other jumping animals I like are: monkeys, bunnies, and kangaroo mice. I don't like jumping spiders though. Those things are scary!
