Janese Vance

Principal

I grew up in Orem with remarkable parents who stressed educational excellence, good character, and hard work. My father was a teacher/principal in the Alpine District for 30 years, so education has always been a big part of my life. I graduated from BYU and while there, took off a semester of college and backpacked around the world. This was an amazing learning opportunity for me. My husband also likes adventure, so we moved our family to China for a couple of years while he completed startup of 3 factories. We love to travel and see what this fantastic world has in it and continue to explore and vacation all over the world whenever we get the chance.

I have 4 children and when my youngest son went to school, I went with him and taught at a private school in Sandy for 10 years. I taught 5th grade for two years at Summit Academy in Draper before moving to Utah County where I began teaching at Mountainville during its inaugural year. My goal in education is to lay the foundation so that students can achieve their potential and succeed in whatever path they choose in life. As an administrator, my strengths include my ability to listen, communicate, strengthen, and collaborate. I am eager to use the knowledge, skills, and tools that I have, as well as my dedication, excitement, and compassion to help Mountainville Academy flourish. I love watching students grow in confidence as they accomplish goals, work hard to achieve, and experience success. I am looking forward to having a wonderful year with all members of the Mountainville Academy community!
