3rd Grade Teacher

From the time I was little, I wanted to be a teacher! As a young student, it always seemed like a magical occupation to me, and I would dream of following in the footsteps of my mother and my favorite 2nd grade teacher. So when it came time to declare my major at Weber State University, I followed my dream and graduated with my degree in Elementary Education in 1996.

Upon graduation, my husband and I moved to Denver, Colorado, where I worked as a kindergarten enrichment teacher. When our first son was born in 1998, I took a hiatus from teaching, and focused on raising our four amazing (I may be a bit biased) children. In 1999, we moved to the Pacific NW, and lived in Seattle for 13 years. Throughout our time in Seattle, I remained an active volunteer in my children's classrooms, typically volunteering in each of their classes every week.

Once all four of our kids were in school full time, I returned to working in the classroom again. This is my 5th year teaching 3rd grade at Mountainville Academy! I wake up each morning excited to interact and teach my students, and I feel incredibly blessed to do what I love every day :). It is my passion for every student I work with to feel empowered in their learning, strengthened in their abilities to be successful, and to build consistent growth and positive attitudes towards their education and the subjects therin. I am so grateful to work at a school whose mission includes promoting a love of learning, and living the & Habits! I strive to live the 7 Habits, and am thankful I get to include these in our daily instruction.
