Rebecca Burnett

Reading Specialist

I'm excited to be teaching at Mountainville Academy helping students who need extra support with their reading. It's a great place to work because of the fantastic students, parents, and staff.

After growing up playing school, I followed my dream and graduated from Brigham Young University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I taught 2nd grade at Grovecrest Elementary in Pleasant Grove, Utah. My husband and I then moved to beautiful Colorado where we spent 21 years raising our four children. During that time, it was very rewarding for me to help students succeed by being a tutor, instructor, and substitute teacher. After that time our family decided to head back to Utah to be near extended family. We are so grateful our  6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter live in Utah.

I love to sharpen the saw by reading, cooking, traveling, outdoor activities, gardening, attending musicals, plays, and spending time with my family.

A special bonus I have is to be able to teach at the same school as my husband. Mr. Burnett, one of the best kindergarten teachers!

What a thrill it is to help inspire students with a love of learning, especially reading. This will be a fantastic year!
